6mm EGT Sensor
Submitted by jason on Mon, 08/08/2011 - 10:39Fast acting due to small tip size, but extremely durable due to 6mm body. Perfect for turbo applications.
This sensor is manufactured specifically for VEMS and not available elsewhere.
Comes with 1/8" NPT stainless steel fitting for ease of installation. You can either add a 1/8" NPT bung or weld this right to the exhaust. Typically placed pre-turbo for best results or right at the exhaust port or collector for non-turbo applications.

Static Flow Rate at different fuel pressures:
60lb/hr (sometimes called 63 lb/hr). For estimations: with BSFC=0.5lb/(HP*hr) this means 120 HP/cylinder at 100% duty. You want to apply your estimated BSFC, max duty and add some margin. Also note that BSFC is higher with Ethanol based fuels like E85.
630cc/min @ 3bar (=300kPa = 43.5 psi)
Econoseal / JPT Crimptool
Submitted by jason on Thu, 03/10/2011 - 23:52Those who make their own harness looms (crimp wire to Econoseal or WBO2 or injector recepticles), will probably want one.
This tool supports 3 wire sizes with it's installed head (removable head), the smallest jaw marked 0.5 .. 1 mm2 is suitable for Econoseal and JPT (WBO2, injector, and many other connectors). The biggest jaw is good for common size relay and fuse connections.
EV1 Injector Connector
Submitted by jason on Sat, 02/19/2011 - 15:102 pin C-type (with clips) AMP Junior Power Timer connector, commonly used for injectors and sensors (eg. manifold or intake air temperature, and coolant temperature, or transmission reed relay or back-up-light switch) or actuators (like idle air valve).
The black color is recommended: it includes receptacles and boot and small rubber seals (proper, one wire seal capable connector).
The green or natural colors are in a style that includes receptacles and boot. Note that this connector is not 1-wire seal capable. The black connector is much better, and recommended in general.
Siemens 80lb HighZ Injector

Resistance: 12-16 Ohms (series power resistor not needed)
Available with either the standard Bosch EV1 connector or the "USCar" EV6 connector.
Sealed Sensor Connector Kit

It provides very good sealing. Useful in the harness, for miscallaneous connections (coolant, temperature sensor, knock, etc...) Receptacles and rubber seal also provided (not just the housing). Boot included with 2 and 3 pin versions.

No firewall connector, but the relay part is detachable, so it's easy to pull back through the firewall (if the engine is removed from the engine bay).
